1870 Vellum Map of Strathardle
This map is owned by John Manning of Dirnanean and with his kind permission it has been reproduced for inclusion in this site.
The map was hand drawn by the local policeman in 1870 and is a remarkable ‘snapshot’ of Strathardle at that time and is believed to be his beat. We have divided the map into six sections so click on the main map and that section will be enlarged. The map is drawn on vellum and has ‘yellowed’ over the years which makes it difficult to read on these small sizes - we are hoping to improve this in the future.
